“Hamas heroes don’t surrender and the (Israeli) occupation lies will not deceive anyone,” Hamas member Izzat al-Rishq said in a statement on Sunday.
That came after Israeli media published footage and photos of people believed to be Hamas members who had surrendered to the Israeli army. The people in the photos and videos were half-naked and their eyes were covered and their hands were tied before being interrogated by the Israeli forces.
Rishq said the photos “are part of a ridiculous story, which the occupation has been fabricating for declaring an alleged victory over the resistance,” adding that people in the photos “were defenseless civilians after they were detained and weapons were placed next to them”.
The Zionist regime waged its war on Gaza on October 7 after Hamas launched an operation against the occupied territories on that day in response to the Israeli regime's decades-long campaign of bloodletting and devastation against the Palestinians.
The Tel Aviv regime has also blocked water, food, and electricity to Gaza, plunging the coastal strip into a humanitarian crisis.
More than 17,700 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have been killed in the Israeli attacks on Gaza.
